# Get investigator

GET https://app.resemble.ai/api/v2/agents/{uuid}

Retrieve one investigator, including its memory and, for a custom
investigator, its skills. Skills are created and edited in the app; the
API returns them read-only.

## Types

### InvestigatorDetail

- `activated` (boolean, required) — Whether this team has initialized backing state for the investigator by running it.
- `capabilities` (InvestigatorCapabilities, required) — Read-only feature flags for an investigator.
- `id` (string, required) — Stable investigator identifier, the same as `uuid`.
- `memory_preview` (string, required) — Read-only preview of patterns learned from previous investigations.
- `name` (string, required)
- `preset_id` (string, required, nullable) — Catalog investigator identifier, or `null` for a custom investigator.
- `tier` (enum, required) — Managed investigation depth. Informational and read-only.
  - Allowed values: `triage`, `investigation`, `forensic`
- `uuid` (string, required) — Stable identifier used by the detail, run and history endpoints. For a catalog investigator this is its `preset_id`; for a custom investigator it is a UUID.
- `config` (map from string to any, optional) — Configuration the investigator runs with. Read-only; its shape is not part of the supported contract.
- `created_at` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Team backing-state creation time, or null before the first investigation.
- `description` (string, optional, nullable) — Verification workflow handled by the investigator.
- `display` (map from string to any, optional, nullable) — Curated catalog metadata (display name, audience, outcome, features). `null` for a custom investigator.
- `memory` (string, optional) — The investigator's long-term memory document, in markdown.
- `skills` (list of InvestigatorSkill, optional) — The investigator's skills. Present only for custom investigators.
- `tagline` (string, optional, nullable) — Short description derived from the investigator's instructions.
- `updated_at` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Team backing-state update time, or null before the first investigation.

### InvestigatorCapabilities

Read-only feature flags for an investigator.

- `media` (boolean, required)
- `reverse_search` (boolean, required)
- `identity` (boolean, required)
- `grounding` (boolean, required)
- `structured` (boolean, required)
- `tools` (boolean, required)
- `knowledge` (boolean, required)

### InvestigatorSkill

A playbook a custom investigator can open when a task matches. The agent sees each enabled skill's name and description, and reads the body only when the skill applies.

- `name` (string, required) — Skill name. Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens.
- `description` (string, required) — One line saying when the agent should open the skill.
- `body` (string, required) — The playbook itself.
- `enabled` (boolean, required) — Whether runs include this skill.
- `position` (integer, required) — Order of the skill in the investigator's list.
