# Get Investigator

`GET https://app.resemble.ai/api/v2/agents/{uuid}`

Retrieve one investigator, including its memory and, for a custom investigator, its skills.

## Response

The example below is a custom investigator with one skill. A catalog investigator returns the same fields without `skills`.

## Response Fields

The item has every field returned by [List Investigators](/detect/investigator/list), plus:

| `memory`               | `string`  | The investigator's long-term memory document, in markdown.                                            |
| `config`               | `object`  | Configuration the investigator runs with. Read-only; its shape is not part of the supported contract. |
| `skills`               | `array`   | Custom investigators only. The investigator's skills, in order.                                       |
| `skills[].name`        | `string`  | Skill name: lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens.                                                   |
| `skills[].description` | `string`  | One line saying when the agent should open the skill.                                                 |
| `skills[].body`        | `string`  | The playbook the agent reads when the skill applies.                                                  |
| `skills[].enabled`     | `boolean` | Whether runs include the skill.                                                                       |
| `skills[].position`    | `integer` | Order of the skill in the list.                                                                       |

> Skills are created and edited in the Resemble app. The API returns them read-only, and runs include a custom investigator's enabled skills automatically.

## Errors

| Status             | Description                                                      |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `401 Unauthorized` | Missing or invalid API key.                                      |
| `403 Forbidden`    | The account does not have Investigator access.                   |
| `404 Not Found`    | The investigator is unknown, archived, or owned by another team. |
